PHARMACEUTICA: PRODUCTION (counting)


In general, production is a desirable station because you can work relatively uninterrupted. You are doing the important work of filling prescriptions! The system leads you through a process that ideally takes a few minutes only per script, but you still need to learn how to navigate it and follow each step correctly; there are exceptions that may slow you down initially. For the record, I am not fast but I am accurate. Practice makes more perfect.

Production for me is somewhat fraught; I am very stressed about making a mistake. My principal worry is making an error that inadvertently impregnates a patient or kills them. A lead tech assured me that the system prevents such events from happening. Furthermore, the pharmacist verifies every prescription before the patient picks it up. They will ask you to rectify it quickly. Production is the best because you hear all the funny shit going down with patients at pick-up without dealing with the stress of direct encounters. 


OVERHEARD IN THE PIT…

PHARMACIST #1: Did you hear about the tech who got a patient pregnant by shorting her birth control?

PHARMACIST #2: Oh my God no, where did this happen?

PHARMACIST #1: Here.

PHARMACIST #2: Well, there go our monthly store points.

PHARMACIST #1: But wait, it gets worse.

PHARMACIST #2: Oh my God, how?

PHARMACIST #1: Then she died.

PHARMACIST #2: The tech?

PHARMACIST #1: No dummy, the patient!

PHARMACIST #1: Oh my God! That poor woman. Did they fire the tech?

PHARMACIST #1: Of course not. We’re very understaffed.

Beth Takes Her First Drink and We All Yawn

“Still” Beth and Daryl do a lot of running away from walkers, A LOT. This is quite the tenses, as the  infamous fake O.J. observer said way back in 1994 to a thoroughly befuddled Peter Jennings. The duo decides to hide out in the trunk of a defunct car as walkers swarm the area. After scavenging the car for useful stuff, they leave. Huh. Not much to say about that except maybe, “I see Beth, and she look scared!” in the words of the aforementioned OJ observer impersonator. I do hope that most of my readers were either old enough to vote, drink, or engage in carnal relations when O.J. Simpson murdered his ex-wife and her friend Ron Goldman back in 1994. Editing My Husband

Several months ago, I was sitting at my desk, texting back and forth with my husband about the usual, mundane details of our lives: So you’re going to Korea for two weeks when? And you have a client dinner Tuesday and won’t be home until after midnight? Boring stuff. Then, just as I turned my attention to actual work, my iPhone pinged again. I read the new text, which seemed slightly out of place compared to the previous thread: I’m looking for a relationship with someone that is independent, smart, hard working like me and is adventurous. We work hard but carve out time for amazing dates a couple of times per month at minimum. Travel the world, learn new things, eat great food and drink great wine, experiment and thoroughly enjoy our time.
